ADHD and Personal Relationships

I have adult ADD and my spouse is having a terrible time understanding why I can't remember things--although significantly improved when on meds--don't pay attention, etc. She has asked me if I am going to keep blaming it on the ADD. Anyone have any advice, resources, etc.?
