Sunny, I hope you and your SO can find a way to stow your old baggage and find some new sensible luggage to carry new memories around in. I also pray that your once 3-year old son will find a way to transcend the pain he may have experienced from having a father who, from what you've said, failed in appropriately loving the most precious gift ever given to him. Finally,I trust that as a young adult your son will be able to understand that your anguish and self-injurious actions were inpart a reflection of just how deeply you love him.
