Jai,
My family is an ancient beer-drinking clan (we skip a liver every other generation) although I broke tradition when I took up wine - especially white riesling.
For several months I lived and worked in a youth hostel on the Rhine river. Wine that would now cost $100 per bottle flowed freely. I was in the middle of the vineyards.
I love wine (right up there with acid - I mean "with" acid) but I would have to move to Europe for it to be affordable. Besides, I'm planning to quit drinking altogether. And I haven't seen farmecuetical (did I spell that right?) acid since the 70's.
I'm in a bit of a tailspin. I think I've had the flu since Friday. Got the chills and shakes - mayber fever. I'm drinking tonight just to deal with it.
At least I hoofed it to the store and packed the beer back, getting some exercise. I once packed a case of beer into Upper Grace Lake in Glacier National Park - I think it was a 23 mile hike, mostly uphill. I wanted a grizzly to eat me before it was over.
Have you seen "The Shooting Party" with James Mason? I just thought of it. I need to see that again.
