Are you wondering whether those anxieties are inherently irrational? Not necessarily - if you or someone in your family are facing a potentially threatening situation, then I wouldn't call it irrational to be anxious about it. Presumably whoever did your diagnosis doesn't feel this to be the case? Do you?
