Yeah, we're going to get into his "limited education" comment this week for certain. And I wish I had you whispering in my ear. You really get this issue, and can articulate it so well. You're completely right about the label "transference" still having the power to hurt, even when I intellectually understand his definition.

For example, I'm not looking forward to bringing up the above in my session this week, because I know it'll get labeled as transference (and I'm hoping his comment can also get labeled countertransference). I hate being so darned predictable (I loved your "therapy cliche" comment), even though I know I'm supposed to bring my transference into these sessions, and from my T's perspective, that's the whole point of therapy.
