rnny,
I am sad to see you have to go through the process of finding another T. It is very daunting esp more for you since you have to try to find a replacement who will be similar to your old T.
You are right, in the end it is how you feel about and relate to them that matters the most. If you simply could not mesh well with her, then moving on is right for you right now.
I've found good therapists from therapytribe.com and psychologytoday.com but it would also depend on your area. And I recommend interviewing them extensively on the phone first, then agreeing to the first session as an interview session only, where you give a bit of your T background experiences and the prevalent issues you need addressed. Then perhaps, follow-up with a phone call to schedule any further appointments. It might seem like unnecessarily long hoops to jump through, but if they'll willing to spend this time with you then it will be likely that they are better fits. (all just suggestions, of course)
I wonder if the situation with the T you old T recommended to you has changed. Maybe she might be worth interviewing with again. Now that some time has passed, perhaps she has decided to come back into the office more than she will be away. It's just a thought.
Good luck with your search. ((((rnny))))
