I haven't been around in a while and just found out about this. I don't plan to post anything more about my experiences on this site if there is no way for me to change MY settings so that none of my posts can be tweeted or shared on facebook. People there could easily stumble on this website the same way we did... Googling anything vaguely related to therapy frequently brings up posts here.
I don't feel safe when I cannot control the way in which my personal information is used. Being able to control your own privacy and to change your privacy 'settings' is a feature of ALL social 'networking' sites and forums that I am aware of, except this one. Even Youtube lets you choose how widely you want your videos able to be shared on facebook, twitter, etc.
I'm sorry to have lost this place of support, as it and the people in it have helped me tremendously. I would consider coming back if the policies changed, but I cannot post about myself under these circumstances. Everyone should have the right to control their own personal information.
