I bumped into my old T once at a play. It was a local version of a Broadway play. She was with her husband. the atmosphere was definitely not conducive to talking about issues. It mean it is not like I bumped into her in the grocery aisle somewhere and no one else was around. Even then I wuoldn't have launched into a therapy session!! but the only time I did bump into her (it was only one time) i didn't say "hi Sue". I referred to her by last name and acted like I could have been anyone. "Hello Mrs. Jones". She actually stood kind of close wherby I was willing to just keep walking and asked me "how was it going with Bill being with you tonight" because she knew I was at the show with someone who had been one of the reasons I was in therapy. I told her the person was making the show a living hell and we just moved on from there. And that was OK. We didn't stand around and talk. I felt blessed that she asked a caring question and we both undertood that I gave an answer and we could talk about it during our next session. we had a very good relationship. So, about you. ever see your T outside of the session and how did it go? What was going on? Boy do I miss her. What a godsend she was.
