Boy, going on meds has been quite the relief for me. I resisted it for years and years. But everything is so much easier. Therapy, relationships, work...
Oddly enough, it was a tremendous relief to me to go to my first pdoc appointment. She was so businesslike and thorough. Suddenly I felt like my depression was a straightforward illness to be treated--not a fatal flaw I had to be ashamed about. I know I need the therapy too, of course. But sheesh, these meds make therapy a heck of a lot less horrific.
