My Old t (last session was two weeks ago) dx me with BPD. My relationship with him was almost mystical. FOr the lack of a better word. He brought out the best and worst in me, I became EXTREMELY dependent on him, he backed away when he started having personal problems, and lots of other crap happened to our theraputic relationship too. Anyway, I am back to a t that I had when I was a teenager until my early 20's, and he thinks me having BPD is absurd. If I truly had BPD those behaviors should have surfaced then.
Sometimes, I think it is a personality thing, and some behaviors can surface. I guess I wanted him to "save" me. IDK.
If your new t is going with that dx and you you find that troublesome, look for another. SOmetimes it takes several before you find the right fit. I know it stinks but it is the mental health system.
