I may be wrong, but this sounds unethical to me. Did the new therapist actually use the words *how to handle you*?
In my experience consultation between therapists is done in certain cases--for instance, in a group practice where one therapist is taking over for vacation/illness coverage (this happened when I saw another therapist when mine was on maternity leave). Or, if a therapist needs consultation, of course--but that's a different scenario, and the therapist should at all costs avoid revealing your name.
Are these therapists in the same practice or center? That might make it a little more kosher.
It might vary depending on where you are. I've only seen group and private practice therapists in Ohio and Chicago.
But I can't see how you can comfortably work with a therapist whom you feel is set against you from the start.
