Have you guys ever heard the phrase "the elephant in the room"? It refers to something that is obvious, but that everyone is chosing not to look at, or speak about.
I think that player piano was the elephant in the room - especially significant because it was in my bedroom. I mean, I had to go around it, just to get into bed.
