I agree with the others, you should phone. Besides, I think you can always be certain that a T is going to check his phone messages. I don't think you can count on him being as dedicated about checking for emails particularly if this isn't a way he customarily communicates with patients.
Why don't you leave a phone message for him, giving him the choice between calling you back to confirm the time, or emailing you - and obviously give him your email address. How he responds might tell you how cautious he is about letting people know his email address.
