I did post on the Books board about an Oliver Sacks book about music (but nobody has, ahem, commented there):

He talks a lot in it about music and healing, though in terms of dementia in particular. What a fascinating subject. I am very changeable where music is concerned; sometimes it can soothe me, and at other times I just cannot filter it out and find that the same piece of music will distract me :-(
I do have quite a memory for lyrics and I used to *love* playing along with "Name That Tune" when it was a game show that lasted into the 70's. Now I just get to play it with my DH.
