my T and I have discussed music. In recent weeks I have seen a world-famous orchestra perform works by Bruckner, Shostakovich, Berg, and Mahler. I described my state of dissociation and quasi-psychosis during the Shostakovich, in particular. T agreed with me that the music was NOT good for my mental health.

Lately what HAS been helping me feel good are Masses and sacred choral music. I really love the music of Arvo Pärt. He is a contemporary composer and his stuff is almost ambient music in the way that textures and harmonies collect, gather, transmute over space
