When my son was little I would call to him, "what are you doing?" when it got really quiet. He would usually answer, "nothing." "And you don't need to come and check!" Which meant of course I did.
I suspect when your therapist hears you saying, "I'm fine. Or I don't need you anymore" she probably thinks, "I should check on this." I think that is a really good thing too, because I think some part of you does need her and as you said, she makes you feel safer.
So I'm glad you went to see her, even if you feel confused now. It is OK to need her.
