It sounds to me as if you value practical assistance very highly - like getting an abuser removed from the situation. And I agree. It’s hard for a therapist to do that; it’s often outside their remit, unless they’re asked to go to court to help put an abuser behind bars, for example.

I can identify with fantasies of having a devoted protector! And yet… I still want to be able to feel safe enough to manage without one…
