In that sort of situation, I lie down on the sofa with the TV on. I pull something over my head to block the light, and let the story on TV keep any and all bad thoughts away. Mufflie's idea about tapes works, too, I'd imagine, for the same reasons.
Sounds icky to be where you are, but at least you're getting stuff done!
I hope that helps, and that your nap is a good one. You might have inspired me -- although the Concerta makes napping harder. (My husband had some cardiac testing done today, so we had to eat before sparrow's f*rt, so I'm particularly out of kilter right now. Not enough sleep, but then I got back into bed and dozed with a kitten, so now I'm figuring this is mostly a wasted day. Except that I Tivo'd "Rent" and am finally able to watch it! Jesse L. Martin is so scrumptious...)
