I haven't met a single person that hasn't told me that exercise is important.
Last session, in fact, T told me about a study in which the more exercise one did, the less SSRI was needed to control depressive symptoms.
I'm trying to go on a walk everyday, around the block, to get some sunlight. sunlight is important. Housework is good exercise to a point.
Formal exercise. I have NO excuse. There is a community center about 4 doors down from me, and they offer FREE exercise classes every weekday at 830 or so. I am going to make it a goal to go to ONE exercise class this week. One. maybe it will be on monday, maybe it won't be until friday, but ONE.
They offer classes like sculpting with weights, yoga, etc. I am comfortable with all of these, as I used to do a lot of exercise classes.
The other option I have is to tag along with husband as he coaches me through miles of tricky mountain bike terrain. It's scary much of the time, but I haven't fallen yet. Probably good training for ski season coming up too. This is a good time of year to start working on endurance, balance, and strength needed to ski all day long.
Do people know I'm a skiier? I crave the speed of the double black diamond. the smooth carving in the blue trails and the gentle glide of the green ones. Fresh air and sunshine in winter is the ultimate high.
best to you P.
