Scared

I saw my pdoc today and told him that I had been hearing voices. I keep hearing "mom" over and over again and I look up and no one is there. Also a couple of times lately, I hear two people having a conversation (only lastas a few seconds) but i have not idea what they're talking about.
Pdoc wants me to have an MRI and EEG to rule out anything wrong neurologically. He said it's the conversation that concerns him.
I'm scared? What could it be?
