I think the little child represents someone he is allowed to be close to - his child, his wife, etc. The part of you that he was close to, too. Although since you were babysitting, it tells me that you know somehow that you can't be with his family, or him, all the time.

The journey to your old house seems to be into your past. And the shrine to your mom I think is th part that has been left in you - good or bad -- but is now part of your past. I do agree with Poet and Gazo that you seem to be unsure that your therapist is going to believe how bad it was with your mom. But since her pictures are in your old house, maybe her influence is staying there too.

I have no clue about your husband's weird artwork. Possibly quirks to your life together or something sexual being represented. Anything you want to tell us?? :)
