thanks Daisy. I agree with you completely. I suppose there may be rare instances/clients in which the therapist calling first could be harmful (ie, if someone was highly dependent, in an unhealthy way), but for the vast majority of cases, I dont believe there's harm in it. In fact, like you said too, it makes me feel so cared for and supported. It deepens the connection for me and makes her more of a real person who does indeed exist outside of the therapy room (because sometimes it doesnt seem like it!) I havent seen Laurie for about at least 2 months now, but I know she's still there and I really was part of her life, even though not in a "real" sense, for some time. It's a wonderful feeling to know that I'm important.
I'm glad your T does that as well. :)
