Update on new pdoc :)

Posted by curtm on September 1, 2006, at 9:04:18

I saw the man Thursday and went through the whole speel again. You know the one, I needn't explain. Well by the end of the session, we had determined where my mood circle is approximately and that I was still suffering some depression along with my Bipolar disorder.

I told him my T had recommended Provigil (white lie) and he agreed that it would be worth a try. So now I am just waiting for the insurance approval to go through so I can pick up my 'script.

I am partially elated for the simple fact that I got what I wanted. I like to get what I want. Don't we all. I hope the med works as expected.

An interesting note: As he was explaining the mood circle, which, I vaguely remember from Psych class, he pointed out which emotions fall nto the respective quadrants. He saved the low energy/high euphoria quadrant, or the pleasure zone as he called it, for last. He asked me what I thought may fall into that area. Of course I didn't say the first thing that came to mind, which was "being stoned?" I pondered a moment and said, "sitting on a beach somewhere?" He agreed and stated that some people also try to achieve this pleasure through the use of illicit drugs. Ka-ching! I think he may have been testing me for abuse issues. If so, I passed the test.
