Yikes! That does sound awkward. I ran into my T at Barnes and Noble a month or so ago, and she came up and talked to me for a minute.. I'm not even sure what I said, it felt so strange. I was very flustered as well. But I'm sure your pdoc understands that it felt weird (it may have even felt weird to her too, who knows) and threw you for a loop a little bit. It's funny how out-of-place they seem outside the office... even though we obviously know that they leave the office, they'd better not do it while I'M around! Kidding of course, but that's how it feels to me sometmes. :) Sorry you had that awkward experience.. but it's great that you have such a good relationship with your pdoc. It's too bad they arent all like that!
