(((Crushed)))
I think sometimes there is a lot of activity "off line" - so some people know if others are having a hard time. This sort of sets up the people who then get called out to "on line" again.
I had a situation where I actually emailed and asked a person if they didn't like me since they never seem to respond to my threads. I felt so stupid and high schoolish but I just HAD to know if I had offended this person. Turns out I had it all wrong, my assumptions were so off base and she was very sweet about my egocentric behavior. I'm admitting this only to help you know that we've all felt invisible at one time or another.
You aren't invisible to me, neither is LGL. I sometimes think I have nothing to add or don't know how to help, but I always care. Maybe I should make a point of typing just that.
All that said, I think these kinds of threads are dangerous for exactly the reasons you and lgl pointed out.
