That was a great idea daisy,
In the past I've taken my daughter's to a movie - girl time, we have so little of it. This year they've both been to see Harry Potter, so my husband, son, and I are going in the morning. Then we'll go home, we'll all cook, set a pretty table, enjoy each others company, have a nice meal together (Two of our kids don't eat turkey, so I make steak too.), and then my daughter's and I, or my daughter's and my husband will see a movie. We'd all go together except our youngest is only 2, and he can't do movies yet.
I love this tradition, even if it is kind of odd, it gives us time together and we laugh and have fun. And it's something none of their friends do, so it's interesting for them.
