Thanks for your replies. I think it will be much more positive with this T. I think he's going to be more accepting, kind, and caring.

Thanks for your suggestions about the candle. I guess it is pretty silly not to be able to tell him it bothers me. I'm sure he'd more than understand. I have some that smell really good, and they're lightly scented, maybe I'll take him one.
