Sounds like a good T. I'm glad you are feeling comfortable enough to go forward with it.

As far as the candle is concerned, how about: "I'm quite sensitive to strong smells, and while the candle is a nice scent, it is too overwhelming for me. I would prefer if you would not have it lit when i am here."

??? Seems perfectly reasonable to me. I would respect your request and be pleased that you were able to express it.
