Some people are so happy and nice by themselves..

Posted by pinkeye on July 8, 2005, at 14:30:58

I wonder about people who seem to be very nice and happy because of their nature...they don't even put efforts into being nice and happy, they just are.. and they are so pleasing and caring, and they don't even have to put an effort to be that way.

I had an accident with a guy few days back, and he was actually quite a poor guy - and I didn't cause his car big damage. But my car's airbags and windshiel is gone.. (no one is hurt).. He was extremely pleasant.. HE didn't make a fuss or get angry, he was more concerned about how I was doing.. He didn't want to call the cops and he said he is not going to claim anything for his car - that he will remove the minor bend himself.

And I didn't call him after that, but yesterday he called me and asked me how I was doing, and asked me to drive safely - he said he didn't need any money from me or my insurance and that he didn't want to claim anything. He was sorry that my car was more damaged.

And I knew this guy was not pretending.. he was just that way.. A very poor guy likely - his utility van was really old, he didn't have a cell phone, and he doesn't even have a voice mail in his house. But very decent and pleasant.. I was really amazed. He was an old guy and very poor, but there was something really nice about this person.

I like people like this who are naturally very nice and happy and pleasant. I always have to try to be happy.. and I have too much of guilt to overcome.. and though I appreciate people who try to be good and pleasant and happy, I get very inspired by people who are naturally like that.
