What our T's do under the surface

In reply to awesome article I found !, posted by happyflower on June 22, 2005, at 16:53:47

Now that I know what my T does under the surface, I see it isn't a real personal relationship. Personal relatioships don't work the same. I think it would be hard being a T. I think you would meet a lot of people you would like and want a personal relationship, but you can't. If they acted like a T , in a personal relationship, it is almost dishonest, or deceitful in a way. I think if you tried to have a personal relationship after therapy, you would expect 100% acceptance and support. Then you would of course be let down, because in real life nobody can give you that. Maybe that is why therapy is under an hour. It must be exhausting work to always give support! lol Plus if you are let down by the therapist, it could "undo" the work you did with them, and maybe make you regress.
