I've had very odd and frightening experiences from stress and panic, and I don't always feel stressed or panicked when I have them. I sometimes feel quite calm, and quietly note what I'm experiencing.
That being said, perhaps you should check with a neurologist just to be on the safe side. No harm in it, and it might prove instructive. For example, I learned that some of my odd experiences were migraine related, even though they felt like plain old dissociative episodes with no panic attached. And I think they ruled out temporal lobe epilepsy for me.
