About a decade ago, I was sent to a local VA hospital and had to "cold turkey" a daily 12mg dose of xanex. As a result, I went without any sleep whatsoever for just over 9 weeks (63+ days) before receiving an hour respite, that over the next 3-4 years increased to around 3 1/2 to 4 hrs per night (complications arose due to this, but that is another story.) Other then my doctors (who kept track during the 1st 4 weeks while hospitalized) and family (who experienced it first hand), few believe me and many claim it is impossible to go that long without sleep. Has anyone else had a simular experience? Is this extremely unusual? I was in a "third world" most of this time, but was always concious and kept a record. The repercussions of this withdrawal, has precipitated numberous other sleep related problems still being suffered. How many others have faced these problems?
