Wow, where to begin. Went into crisis a few years ago having flashbacks of a childhood abuse that happened at a very young age. I might add that I have always been rather suspicious of crap like that happening to people until it happened to me. It was not uncovered during hypnosis, or brought on by suggestion of any sort. Tried to get some therapy and some drugs to help with the symptoms until my psych told me that they really didn't have a drug for PTSD. Lately I've been studying the limbic system, trying to understand what's going on with me biochemically and why the drugs don't work and trying to figure out what might work. So far, it is my understanding that increased levels of norepinephrine cause anhedonia and increased levels of dopamine cause paranoid delusions and anxiety is caused because of increased levels of norepinephrine and epinephrine. MAOIs increase the life of the norepinephrine and epinephrine and most of the antidepressants have MAOIs and SSRIs and the dopamine inhibitors don't seem to help either. Any input would be appreciated.
