Your post screams to me, mood disorder. Doesn't matter if it just started. See Daniel Amen's book for a more detailed description of rage attacks and the brain. . .the closest way we have right now to dx them is mood disorder/seizure/electrical glitch, and I have no doubt you'd find something like Lamictal or Zyprexa helpful.
Zyprexa, BTW, is something you can pop when an attack is coming on. It would be interesting--and diagnostic of whether this is purely psychological, which it seldom ever is. Might you get a hold of a few and try it? (I can't recommend, personally, being on it all the time, because I put on fifty pounds--now an admitted side-effect, tho Eli Lilly has a recommendation that works for some to lessen that effect. . .had to give it up, which was hard, it gave me a life for the first time in my life. . (found even better meds, for me.)
