I wouldn't say it smelled like a dirty baby. I'm not absolutely sure what it does smell like.

It may be in my mind. I have a recurring yeast infection under my arms (I should be grateful it isn't anywhere more painful), and it flares up when I'm under stress. I also am suspecting that my blood sugars go up when I'm under stress. So maybe there's a correlation.

Incidentally, it took a dermatologist to diagnose the yeast infection. Other doctors misdiagnosed it completely. Apparently it's not unusual for diabetics to get yeast infections in nonstandard areas. Underarms and under the breasts are two places it often shows up, although it's a bit unusual for it not to be in the more usual places as well.

Diabetes *can* cause unusual body odors, from what I researched this morning. The smell of alchohol, or fruity breath, are the most usual.

But if you're overweight, it couldn't hurt to have your doctor check you out periodically. I was borderline, but not diabetic, in January of the year I was diagnosed, and diabetic in April.

I think overall I was better off sipping the Dr. Pepper for a steady but slow sugar intake than I am with eating too much. :( I miss it. The fountain sort. Not too carbonated.
