The day before of prep is way worse than the real thing. They've always had me so high, that if I was awake, I just found looking at the little tv showing my insides fascinating. Last time, I think my doc was worried about substance tolerance, so she had an anesthesiologist knock me all the way out. It doesn't hurt down there at all. If you are a mess inside, there could be interior pain, but pain med is part of the coctail. Just make sure your gastro person believes in sedation and act real nervous.
A close female friend has IBS, but we don't actually discuss it much. wonder why.
