> I work out as much as I can keep myself motivated , usually 4 - 7 days per week...running plus lifting. I'm noticing improvement but lately I've found myself browsing all the different shakes, pills, and bars they have in the gym's store on the way out. How helpful really are these items? Are they worth it? If so, what are the best and what are they the best FOR? thanks so much.
They're convenience foods, with a little cross-over into nutritional supps. Really depends on the product, and how much you value the convenience factor. Drinking a meal-replacement type shake would obviously be better than drinking a soda, but so would a piece of fruit and some cheese, or a light meal with some water. There's no simple answer because it's a personal realm decision.
