Hi Karen,
I am semi new here but not to emotional problems. I would say it is something to talk to your T and health care profesiional about because the body uses food as a car does gasoline you really must be reaping SOME undesirable benefits from this habit and it MAY be in the form of anxiety and or depression. Now you want to add exercise and the body MUST have a fuel to do this. I work out a lot and considered somewhat of an athlete and I eat some protein a bit before my workouts to fuel my muscles. So I would say you need to work on this maybe even see your GP or a sports medicine doctor to get a feel for why you cannot eat sooner..you may run high blood sugars of an A.M
