I suppose it doesn't matter if we call our emotions gods and demons as long as we know what we are doing. It makes sense to talk about sex like that, because sex causes a rupture in the normal fabric of life and is therefore reasonably well described as a god, as the ancient Greeks did.
Maybe I'm interested in the use of the word. It seems that once you describe someone or something as evil, then further enquiry is unwelcome. This may be a mistake. One of the best, though not most enjoyable, books I have read is Gita Sereny's "Into That Darkness", about the compomises made by Franz Stangl, commandant of Sobibor and Treblinka. It's an investigation into evil, I guess.
