You did absolutely nothing wrong. You were not being punished by God in any way, shape or form. He was not trying to teach you a lesson. I promise you this with all my heart.
Your parents had choices to make. They could have been good parents, just as you have chosen to be despite your past. Instead, they chose to be abusive, and I am so sorry that they made those choices. Their bad choices are still wreaking havoc in your life. Have you ever heard the term 'the sins of the fathers?' It means that consequenses for the bad choices we (your parents) make can affect our children (you), our children's children (your kids--not from anything you've done, but what you have to deal with affects everyone close to you), and so on, passed down through the generations. Does that make sense? It has nothing to do with what you deserve.
I know that sounds too incredibly simple for the hell that you've been through and are still in, but I am speaking from a Christian point of view. Christianity is basically a very simple concept. God gives us free will-- the choice to believe or not, to obey Him or not, to pray or not, etc.,-- and the choices we make are entirely up to us.
I agree with your T about your mom being narcissistic. She had to have been so completely self-obsessed, not for one second could she have been thinking about you or anyone else. Please stay away from her. She did this, not God.
