I started having pain in one of my legs, and I think it may be a circulation problem linked to my high cholesterol (the reason I HAVE to lose weight). Now that my health is in danger, there's a lot of pressure to lose the weight. It's no longer about how i look, because I actually feel better about my body than i did when I was anorexic....
Something I've found myself, is that when I was emaciated, I lost almost all of my muscles. Then force-feeding on the weight in an environment that doesn't allow exercise, made nearly all of it come back as fat. Which is what they wanted -- what I needed (to a certain degree). Yet, depending on how many times you cycle, more muscle is lost, and none regained.I got to a point where I was still thin, but had a high percentage of body fat. Now, (although I also have an additional medical problem) I find it hard to do very basic exercise. I'm severely out of shape.
The tough thing is, if you look at it from purely a weight perspective, they would consider me healthier now, than before -- though it's anything but.
It will be difficult, but I think it's really great that you're approaching your weight loss from a health, and not appearance perspective -- You must've worked hard while recovering from your AN episode.
Keep fighting, EL
