My son, aged 8, with Asperger's Syndrome, takes Adderall in combo with Zoloft. It has done him a world of good. Without it he could not attend to anything in school. He was on Ritalin and when it wore off he would crash badly and have bad tantrums. Adderall is longer lasting and much smoother acting in that sense. It is a drug that has been studied alot and there is alot of information out there on it.

It is scarey to put your child on meds when they are so young. But if it is something that can help your child succeed then it is worth it. I cannot describe the feelings of relief it has been to see the complete turnaround he made when on the right meds. I don't think we could manage without them.

But do the research and find out everything you can about what your doctor is reccommending. You've come to a good place for that.
