I love Evelyn Waugh! My favorite might be "Black Mischief," or possibly "Put Out More Flags." Maybe it's "Vile Bodies" -- another that was made into a movie, called "Bright Young Things." Actually, his first one, "Decline and Fall," is also brilliant -- just a howl all the way through.
Waugh is one of my very favorite writers. As if that wasn't clear enough for anyone to make out...
