I've read, I think, all of them. My husband asked me, the other day, whether I thought they were really as phenomenal as the hype surrounding them. I know my opinion on that, but I wondered about other people? Do the rest of you think they live up to the hype?
As it happens, I do. I'm a very critical sort of reader, probably because I do read so much, and they truly strike me as worth all the excitement. In fact, as someone who reads a lot of children's books, I would say they're about the best contemporary children's books I've read in -- well, in a very, very long time. They're original, they're well written, they're gripping, and they're engaging. I was drawn in to the stories, cared about the characters, and generally thought they were well worth the time I spent reading them.
So, what do other people think of them?
