Productive in the face of stress--a good aim!

I've read feeling good--some doc or other recommended it to me, and I found it to be an excellent, pleasant enough introduction to Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, well written and packed with good information. The edition I have has an extra section in the back which very usefully explains some basic aspects of pharmacology. It has tables in it with all sorts of information, like some tables listing the major US antidepressants, and columns rating them each for a given side-effect--whether they have them, and if so, how bad on a scale from 0 stars to 3.

Every p-doc or psychologist I've mentioned it to has said things like 'It's an excellent book,' or 'It's the only book I recommend to people.'

Anyway, of course it won't cure you, but it really does have some useful information and tools. You can pretty much drop in and start reading anywhere. I've suggested it to a close friend to help her with anxiety.
