I enjoyed the movies, but not as much as the books. I felt like they were mostly produced for males. Way too long and high-tech battle scenes. And I was especially miffed that they didn't include the houses of healing scene in The Return of the King. And the way they changed the ending and the return of Arwen. But the locations (New Zealand wasn't it?) were fantastic, and I thought it was well cast and had cool costumes.
