i loved reading bukowski when i was depressed and out of work.
it reminded me that i wasn't scraping the bottom of the barrel.
his characters were exhibits a, b, and c of how low i could go! :)
it was cheering in that morbid sort of way.there is a cafe in my neighbourhood called bukowski's. ironically you can get a basmati rice bowl for $15. i don't think bukowski would set foot in there, preferring the junkies at the pub on the wrong side of town.
c'est la vie.
i've read the novels but not so much the short stories. how do the short stories compare?
