Hi, I do own the book. I bought it during one of my many self-help desperation moves since therapy and meds weren't working. The book didn't really hellp either. It was a good introduction for me before my pdoc recommended a CBT therapist. My problem with the therapy and the book, is that I feel like I am being tricked into thinking my thoughts are all screwed up and irrational. In some ways, I often felt like it was just like arguing with my husband and I would always lose to logic.

What I did like about the book -- it had a copy of the Beck Depression Inventory which I used to guage how bad off I might be during the inevitable downturns I am subject to. You should be able to find one of the old editions in second hand book stores. I haven't looked at the new edition which I think has a supplementary workbook.

I have the ALIENST somewhere in our house. It had seemed to be a very interesting book to read. I'll have to do more digging.
