In reply to Glutathione Supplement opposed to NAC, posted by Lamdage22 on December 20, 2013, at 2:29:09
Lamdage22,
I'm not sure how a glutathione supplement would compare with N-acetylcysteine for suicidal thinking. I noticed an increase in agitation when I took NAC before the onset of my psychosis, but I'm not sure how it would affect me now. I also tried a sublingual version of glutathione not too long ago with my Abilify, and I think I noticed some benefits from it for about two weeks (as far as energy, concentration, and hypersomnia were concerned) before it ended up becoming seemingly ineffective.
Having said what I've said, I'm not aware of any studies that have been done on the effectiveness of glutathione supplementation for affective disturbances. That's not to say that it might not be worth trying.
