Since I added 200mcg of selenium and increased my B12 to 750mcg per day I have been feeling a lot better. I also added a little Niacin to the mix. AND the biggest news of them all, is this is my 70th day free of cigarettes! Once I quit, everything else started to get better. Kudos to you for doing so well on your regimen. I used to experiment with all kinds of supplements, but I was disappointed most of the time. I think I am very sensitive to anything I put in my body in the way of supplements. Some things work and some don't. Basically, what has worked for me has been the medication in addition to the vitamins I take. I try to stick with nutrients that my body naturally uses all the time to maintain wellness. Most supplements have too many side effects and just complicate my situation. I just bought a book, well it's only 48 pages long, by Dr. Abram Hoffer on the Orthomolecular Medicine for Schizophrenia. It has some good information in it and I already use most of the supplements he suggests. Unfortunately, I can not tolerate real high doses of B3 or Vitamin C. I've been trying over the last two weeks, but it just isn't working for me. I seem to do much better on B12 and B1.
Anyhow, keep me updated on your progress. It sounds like you've hit the nail on the head as far as your supplements. I'm really happy for you. I just hope I can help other people who have struggled because they were only taking medication and not using nutrients as an adjunct. Most doctors don't educate you on nutrients, but there are many doctors that are starting to see the light. Hopefully, one day doctors will incorporate nutrients into all medication regimens. That means they have to have patience and be able to work with their patients long-term. I know for myself it took a few years on the nutrients before I was seeing good results. There was a lot of trial and error. Without the nutrients, I would not be feeling as good as I do now. Let's educate everyone to feel their best!
